We are having another rest day today – mainly due to the Labour Day Holiday here as well. Our last rest day turned out very busy as we walked about a 3klm radius from the hotel. The next day we went to the Normandy beaches. It was about a 2 ½ hour trip to Caen where we went to the memorial , saw 2 films, had lunch and headed for the beach of Point du Hock with its steep cliffs that the men had to climb before fighting, then on to the American cemetery of Saint –Laurent at Colleville where nearly 10,000 soldiers are buried, We then walked Omaha Beach where they have 2 large memorials. We were unable to go to Arromacnches on the day as the area was closed (which was one area we really wanted to see) We then visited the Canadian Memorial and beach at Juno before returning home.

The next day was back to walking, met up with Rhonda and Peter and then went to Dinner at the Eiffel Tower, a Seine River Cruise and on to the Moulin Rouge. We really enjoyed the show even though the seats weren’t the best.

Yesterday was the hop on hop off bus and visits back to the Eiffel Tower to take the lift to the summit where you could see the whole of Paris. It is massive. From there we went back to the Louvre and Notre Dame as Rhonda and Peter hadn’t been there. We then climbed the 600 steps of the Arc de Triumphe and then we were to tired to go any further.
We can do the bus again today but nothing will be open. It will give us a chance to repack this afternoon as tomorrow we off to Barcelona.
