We could not believe the flight path we took - Brisbane, Sydney, Bangkok, over Vietnam, Cambodia, across to Nepal, over the Himalayas, just south of Moscow, north of Berlin over Amsterdam then on to London. We went a long way north to come back south to London.
It was a good trip and with the Sky beds we managed to get a fair bit of sleep considering. The food was excellent and service was good. We were met at the airport and brought to the hotel where we stored our bags and went for a walk – about 20klms. Tomorrow we are going to do it on the hop-on hop off bus which should be easier on my poor feet. (in heels) We did get through a lot of the tourist attractions today – Buckingham Palace, Winston Churchills Underground, Trafalgar Square, Big Ben, a battalion of the Parra Regiment on parade being inspected, Supreme Court (where we sat in on a case for a little while) Nelsons Column and even did some shopping at Harrods.
There is a huge police presence over here and security is tight everywhere. On the major attractions there are even steel barriers to keep vehicles from parking to close. There are also police on horses patrolling.
We are now in our room having a long overdue shower and getting ready to go to dinner for an Angus steak and Yorkshire pudding.
I think we will sleep well tonight.
It is all sounding very interesting and we are looking forward to doing the same but are hoping the weather will warm up very quickly.
