Sonoran Dessert

Day 13
Today we left Scottsdale to drive through the Sonoran Desert - red rock country, to Montezuma Castle National Monument, one of the best preseved cliff dwellings in America home to the Sinague Indian.

We arrived in Sedona for lunch, had a look around the town then went in a jeep for a very rough rocky 2 hour drive to the Dry Creek Basin.  It is spectacular country

After a stunning drive through Oak Creek Canyon we arrived at the historic railroad town of Williams - right on old Route 66 - every shop, sign and building says Route 66.

Tomorrow is the Grand Canyon !
