Las Vegas

Day 20

After leaving icy Bryce Canyon (2⁰C) we arrived in sunny Las Vegas (38⁰C). Arriving at the hotel was overwhelming. The lobby was not well lit – only the flashing lights of hundreds of slot machines, tables and bars. The hotel covers a block and there are 4,000 rooms. We are in tower 2, floor 27 and it is an art just to find our way in and out. We have strip view room and at night you can see why this is the city of lights.

We have walked the area but haven’t made it all the way down the strip yet. However we did find Hooters, Coyote Ugly, 4 floors of the M & M shop and the Coca Cola shop. Yesterday we went shopping at the Premium Outlet and managed to find more to buy to fill our bags which are already on the weight limit for our internal flights.

Last night we went to the Tournament of the Kings dinner show. It is in the basement of the hotel and it a really great show. Set in a castle façade it comes complete with knights on horse back, jousting, competitions, fighting, wenches, the round table and each section of the audience cheering for their own king. When the food was delivered we had our own full chicken and vegetable which had to be pulled apart and eaten with your fingers.

I hate this place.  I have lost $3.00!!
