Scottsdale

Day 10
Today we caught a very small plane from L.A. to Phoenix then a taxi to Old Scottsdale. The weather here is very hot, over 30deg C, and it is a very dry heat. You couldn't stay in the sun long.  There is no grass around houses.  It is only gravel.  It is very rare to see grass anywhere.  They have lots of cactus and lantana.

Here it is like being dropped in the old west 100 years ago.  The shops are full of belts, buckles, boots and cowboy hats - all very expensive.

I even had a cowboy call me "little lady"and put his hat on my head for a photo.

We walked around the area for a couple of hours, did the washing, and had an early dinner.

Tomorrow we have another early start.  Ian is really looking forward to it.  We are off to Tombstone and Boot Hill.
